The Association of European Coeliac Societies (AOECS) is a non-profit umbrella organisation that supports people with coeliac disease and gluten intolerance throughout Europe. For more than 30 years, AOECS has supported the community with trusted scientific research, a gluten-free certification standard for food and drinks, and consumer guidance on how to live following a healthy and life-long gluten-free diet.

BRCGS and AOECS have entered a partnership to promote consumers’ access to reliable gluten-free certificated food. AOECS recognises the Global Standard Gluten-Free as comparable to the AOECS Standard and recommends it to their National Coeliac Societies as an equivalent standard to grant the use of the Crossed Grain Symbol.

Global Standard Gluten-Free (Issue 4) now contains an optional section that includes the AOECS standard requirements to reduce audit burden on manufacturing sites. For more information about the AOECS licensing system please contact: helpdesk@aoecs.org
