Agents and brokers play an essential role in the movement and trade of products, providing a critical link in their chain of custody. They can influence their suppliers’ product safety and quality standards and are responsible for maintaining an effective chain of traceability.

The requirements in the Global Standard for Agents and Brokers (Issue 3) are an evolution from previous issues and focus on the implementation of good practice. This publication provides details of all changes to the requirements of the Standard from Issue 2 to Issue 3. Changes are highlighted and explained, and commentary on why the change was made is provided where applicable. The publication should be used in conjunction with the Standard.
