​This publication introduces Issue 7 of the Standard and acts as a guide to the changes made and the reasons for them. The document covers all key changes to the requirements and will be a useful reference for companies needing to update their quality systems in preparation for an audit against Issue 7. 

​An audit will be carried out against the Global Standard Packaging Materials (Issue 7). Both the site and auditor shall have an official copy of the Standard to conduct the audit effectively.

Who should use this publication?

Certification against the Standard is recognised globally by many brand owners, retailers, procurement companies, agents and brokers, food service companies and manufacturers when assessing the capabilities of their suppliers.

It is a requirement that all suppliers undergoing a BRCGS audit to the Global Standard Packaging Materials have access to an official copy of the Standard. Companies must comply with all modules to achieve certification.
