Changing lighting is a big investment. Not only are there potentially significant material costs, there are also installation costs, future maintenance costs and the possible reduced production output caused by installation disruption. However, making the change can lead to cost savings, efficiencies and sustainable outcomes for both the site and the planet.
This guideline has been written with the help of the Society of Light and Lighting and will help sites develop robust systems and procedures which adequately meet the requirements of a BRCGS Standard. It outlines questions to ask when choosing lighting across a facility, lighting types, maintenance and installation, considerations for emergency lighting and how to avoid product contamination.
The guide will give technical, production and procurement staff deeper background information on the requirement within BRCGS Standards to ensure adequate lighting is used throughout their site to enable operations and processes to be carried out.
