Harriet has worked in the food industry since 1988. She worked as a Microbiologist and Food Technologist at British Sugar Plc and Tesco Stores Ltd until 1996. From 1993 until 1996, she worked with focus groups set up in the UK to review the microbiological safety of foods sold to the general public. She was the Retail Representative on the Steering Committee for the Microbiological Safety of Foods She has worked in training and certification since leaving Tesco Stores Ltd in 1996, first as Head of Food Safety at Weston Research Laboratories (Central Technical Function for the Associated British Foods Group), then as Technical Director at National Britannia Certification Ltd. She currently works with SAI Global Assurance Services as General Manager for the Training Division.
