Meera Hoosen is an entrepreneur, owner, and Managing Director of PDCA Solutions, a privately-owned Management Systems Consultancy and Training Company.

In 2006 Meera Hoosen became the first BRCGS Approved Training Provider in Africa to BRCGS and has been conducting BRCGS Approved training for 16years. BRCGS Approved Training Partners (ATPs) are internationally recognized trainers who train auditors, sites, consultants, and retailers on BRCGS Global Standards requirements and protocol. She provides training on the BRCGS for Food Safety, Packaging Materials and Storage & Distribution. Meera is also an approved BRCGS Virtual trainer

As Consultant she has successfully assisted various organizations with the design, development, implementation and continual improvement of various management systems to meet the certification requirements of BRCGS Standards for Food Safety, Packaging Materials and Storage & Distribution, FSSC/ISO 22000 Food Safety Management Systems, ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems,  Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP ) amongst other international and national standards.

She also provides training on these standards and has also developed specialized courses to meet customer needs.

She is also an Approved Training Provider for the HandWashingforLife Forum. The Hand-washing for life program is designed to provide the tools and techniques necessary to have a sustainable impact on hand hygiene behaviour in food and other organisations.

Meera is a registered Management Systems Lead Auditor and Verifying Auditor for SAATCA with many years of auditing experience and has trained and mentored several auditors, and currently conducts 1st, 2nd and 3rd party audits for several organizations.

Meera has been approved by the Global Food Safety Initiative to proctor the compulsory GFSI Exams for Auditors.

Meera has been working in the standards and conformity assessment industry for more than 30 years.  Her experience in the conformity assessment covers various schemes and standards, laboratory testing, product certification, system certification, accreditation, auditing, management and training.

Meera has worked for the South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) for 11 years in various roles within the conformity assessment arena.  Her last position was Regional and Certification Manager of the Western Cape. Whilst in this role she established the BRC Certification Scheme for the organization and also developed and launched a certification scheme for SMME called the Siyakhula Certificate.

Meera also has several years of industry experience and has also worked for a leading packaging manufacturer.

Meera has judged the Western Cape Chamber of Commerce Exporter of the year for 5 years.

Meera has written several articles for various Food and Packaging publications and has presented papers at several conferences.   She is also a guest lecturer for the Institute of Packaging – Advanced Diploma in Packaging.

She has conceived the Women in Quality Conference & Awards. to give recognition to the contribution of the Women in the Quality profession and is passionate about equality and women’s rights.

Meera spends her free time travelling, hiking, gardening and spending time with her family and her three dogs.
