Backed by more than 20 years of professional experience, Nena Velickovic has helmed NV Consulting Inc. for the past three years.
With expertise in food safety, product and process risk assessment, analytical testing, regulatory compliance, seafood sensory evaluation, FSQMS, HACCP, GFSI (BRCGS, SQF and FSSC 22000) and professional training services for the food industry, she provides food safety services including quality assurance and product life cycle management.
Some of the highlights of her career include the implementation of BRCGS' Global Standard for Food Safety for leading food companies in Canada, and the development and implementation of a Food Safety Plan for a large retailer in the US. She also provided training in FSQMS for private label development for the largest retailer in South America; successfully implemented a Quality Management Program for Importers (QMPI) for the leading Canadian national retailer; and developed a National Training Program for Seafood Sensory Evaluation and Seafood Spoilage for Distribution Centres across Canada.
Nena attended Shrimp School at the University of Florida; learned about Cheese Making Technology at the University of Guelph; and completed a Sausage and Processed Meats course at Iowa State University. She holds a BSc in Food Science and is a Certified National Food Safety Trainer.
