Rocio has 20 years of experience in food industry manufacturing. This includes the implementation and maintenance of food safety systems as Quality Manager, Quality Supervisor and HACCP Coordinator in Cadipro Milk Dairy Board, Fonterra, Procesadora Propesca from Standardseafood Group US, Procemarca and Lassonde Specialities Inc. In 2011, she switched to the passionate world of food safety systems auditing, becoming BRCGS, SQF, ISO 22000 Lead Auditor for SGS certification body, and the first IFS auditor to be approved in North America with IFS valid certificate until 2014. In 2015, she become FSSC 22000 Lead auditor until present. Rocio has found Global Food Safety Services Inc. and provides 3rd party audit services through main certification bodies in many food industry sectors such dairy, seafood, prepared fruit and vegetables, processed foods RTE, pasteurized and sterilized products, ambient stable products including beverages, bakery, confectionery, dry food ingredients, cereals, oil, and fats. Rocio has soft auditor`s skills that facilitate collaboration from all stakeholders during her audits. Rocio uses her food industry experience to provide training focus on the actual and practical needs of the food industry.
Rocio has achieved with honors a bachelor’s in food engineering and a master’s degree in Food Sciences & Technology. She has a specialization in Quality Management Systems & Productivity. She is member of the Order of Engineers of Quebec (Jr.). Her curiosity and passion about food safety drive her to remain up to date through ongoing professional and personal training. Her microbiological and chemical background in food allows her to understand key control points in food manufacturing that may impact food safety systems. She speaks English, French & Spanish.
